Gyuri Sim

Hi, I’m Gyuri Sim, a designer and researcher driven to shape the future of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) by crafting socially responsible systems that enhance user well-being.

My research goal is to design AI systems that foster mutual benefits between humans and AI, responsibly extending human intelligence and physical abilities.

I studied UX design at the School of Design Convergence, Hongik University, with a focus on integrating the physical environment. To deepen my understanding of AI systems, I explored Case-Based Reasoning (CBR) during my internship at KAIST (Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology) in South Korea.

About Me

Gyuri Sim 심규리

Hi! I’m Gyuri Sim, and I'm from South Korea.

I recently graduated from the School of Design Convergence at Hongik University, where I integrated UX Design and Product Design in my studies to understand the better interactions between humans and robots/AI. After completing my bachelor’s degree, I interned at KAIST's Information-Based Design Lab, focusing on Case-Based Reasoning (CBR) as part of my journey toward building AI systems.
Currently, I’m exploring a new agenda by reviewing research on Designing Human-AI/Robot Interaction with humancognition, perception, and behavior patterns.

In my free time, I love hiking, traveling, and reading. There's nothing better than reflecting slowly in nature, where I can gain new ideas and inspiration. Traveling is also a great way for me to observe and learn from the lives of people from diverse backgrounds, and I can draw inspiration from these experiences.
